Nina Winther

Nina Winther b. 1994 Odense, Denmark, currently living and working near Odense.

Because of her fascination of swirly brushstrokes, realistically painted skin, dramatic light and composition, she mainly  identifies as a "neobaroque"/romantic painter, who views the act of painting as an old craft of technical skills and sense of poetry.

She has spend many years studying, four of them at world renown, Barcelona Academy of Art, from where she graduated in 2019. Since then she has been taking portrait comissions and arranging workshops and weekly painting courses, near her town of birth, Odense.

She also studied at Angel Academy of Art in Florence in 2022, where she stayed for six months and gathered lots of inspiration for her first solo show,.

Her first series of paintings are all circling around the topic of how humanity is treating the earth; blindly continueing to pollute, destroy, burn and heat up nature, with total awareness of what we are doing. Most of the paintings are loesely based on scenes from very last part of the bible "Johns Revelation".

The solo show at Fyrgården in Hundested was opened on the 18th of March 2023 and can be visited until the 30th of April.
